Week 7: Father Abraham
PREVIEW:
Today, we’re going to talk about Abraham. What do you know about Abraham?
So, Abraham’s name used to be Abram. Abram means “exalted father,” which means someone who’s put on a high level. Who would you is on a high level? Maybe a king or the president or even a pastor? Abram was on that level, but God changes His name to Abraham. Abraham means “the father of many.” Think about our song “Father Abraham.” What do the words say? “Father Abraham had many sons and many sons had Father Abraham.” God tells Abraham when he was 99 years-old and when Abraham had no children that he would make him the father of many nations. A nation is a country. The United States is a nation. Abraham would be a father of many countries and God said that kings would come from Abraham’s children.
